Upstate Project Second-Largest State Investment

History may be in the making in the Upstate, as a nearly $2.8 billion investment could come to Spartanburg County- making it the second-largest business investment ever in the state.

“Higher education, family-owned businesses, everyone will benefit from something this tremendous coming to Spartanburg,” Jamie Grant-Ponce, a Spartanburg Co. resident, said.

Neighbors are bracing for a big decision: will the mystery company pick the Palmetto State as its next home?

“The jobs out at this project, the hourly wage is $55 an hour, which is absolutely incredible,” David Britt, county council member and economic development director, said.
